Arrival:
Please plan to arrive by 5:00 pm to allow for potential train crossing delays at the hotel entrance (see a map of events on our Arrival page).

Parking:
Drive to the hotel entrance roundabout and valet park. Be sure to grab an evening valet validation ticket in the ballroom on your way out.

Wayfinding:
After you enter through the main hotel doors, you will see the gift shop on your right. Take the elevators immediately outside of the gift shop up to the fourth floor. As you exit the elevator, take a left into the ballroom foyer.

Our Playground:
We have the full foyer, terrace room, terrace patio, restrooms, and ballroom for the evening, so make yourself comfortable. You can learn more here, or even take a 3D tour of the ballroom area before you come.

Attire

Come Fancy!

We are planning an intimate, communal experience for a small group of our closest friends and family.

We’ll sit down to a meal at a single long table among a floral meadow created by Sycamore Floral Company. Then, under the twinkling lights of the grand ballroom chandeliers, we’ll dance and celebrate together as the sun sets across the Puget Sound.

Our hope is that you come looking elegant and feeling comfortable. We aren’t formal people, but this event is.

To drill down to specifics: don’t rent a tux unless you prefer to (Russell sure isn’t), but do wear that stylish suit or dreamy long dress that you’ve been saving or wishing you had an opportunity to splurge on.

Children

Fancy Free!

While the more casual Friday and Sunday festivities include children, the wedding ceremony and reception on Saturday will be limited to adults only (plus Lynnea, Luca, and their besties). Our hope is that all wedding guests will cherish a night of child-free relaxation and revelry.

If you are coming in from out of town with children and would like ideas or help finding childcare, please reach out to Joy. We know many local babysitters and are happy to help make childcare a stress-free part of your trip.

Know Before You Go

Food & Drink:
The Edgewater Hotel will serve a champagne toast upon entrance to the ceremony. After the ceremony, there will be an open bar, mocktails, beer, wine, cider, sodas, coffee and tea throughout the evening.

Passed hors d’oeuvres and a charcuterie board will be available during cocktail hour. Then, for dinner, we will sit at a single large table for a plated meal with salad, bread, and your choice of meat, fish, or vegetarian meal.

Dessert will be plated flourless chocolate tortes and apple galettes. Then a few hours later, when your dogs are just starting to bark, a late-night oatmeal bar and fresh fruit platter will be served.

May we suggest you come hungry and stay late?

Music & Sound:
Orion Entertainment, who will be DJ’ing, is a well-known Seattle DJ company fluent in leading audio accessible events. You may not notice the difference, but to support our guests (and bride!) who have auditory disorders, we will play music a bit quieter, turn the mics a bit louder, avoid music with lyrics at dinner, and provide quiet areas for recuperation throughout the evening.

For more information, reach out to Joy, who is happy to talk your ear off about it (a bit too loudly).

Photos:
Our wonderful “friendtographer”, Amy Soper, will be there to capture it all, and we will share access to lots of high-resolution digital downloads, so make it your annual photo while you’re at it.
